My first experience with horses - Navijo

I was 8 yrs old, and i begged, pleaded, promised , anything and everything under the sun, if i could take riding lessons. It was a need that had to b fixed ...finally i was granted to go and take lessons !!! After shown around the barn and horses , I was assigned .. Navahjo. she wasn't the prettiest horse but she was the most trusting with kids.. she was a white appy with little freckles of brown spots ..she had the skimpiest mane , tail and forelock , that was silver . high brown and black socks on all four legs and she had the same outline for a blaze on her face .. she was a carriage horse before, in her early yrs. And could do a carriage trot that was amazing for a long as u wanted her to do.. she was a barn favorite !! It was a war between us kids on who was going to get to ride her .. she was very gentle , careful, and patient with all of us..but don't leave a can of soda around her... she would take the can and down it if u weren't looking and put it right where you left it .. so when you came to take a drink, it would b empty....funny mare !! we would blame each other on who drank the sodas.. until she was caught !! she looked so surprised with a can in her mouth when she was scolded .!! If and when i ever get a horse i hope it will have a little bit of her , just so i will b reminded how special she was ...
